OUR COMPANY STORY
Aside from this company, Cathileen Marchese has always been very passionate about fitness. A common challenge that she heard from her gym friends is that traditional sweat pants were comfortable, but not fashionable. So Cathileen set out to find a solution!
In 1984, she developed workout pants that were not only comfortable, but also fashionable. She trademarked the pants and called them “BAGGEEZ.” It didn’t take long for the “BAGGEEZ” to become the mainstay of numerous fitness gurus and when MC Hammer himself endorsed them, they became known as “the MC Hammer pants.”
Cathileen’s ambitions and ingenuity enabled her to start and incorporate Build Your Own Garment (BYOG). Initially working from her home in 1990, her tireless work ethic, relentless quest for quality, and servant leadership style facilitated her company’s move to a humble East Bay Area (Dublin, California) warehouse in 1993. Through the years, BYOG has invested in screen printing and embroidery machines to keep all of the production in house.
Today, BYOG is housed in a 15,000 square foot facility. Their showroom, production warehouse, and corporate offices are all under one roof. They continue to innovate with state-of-the-art automated presses and top of the line computerized embroidery machines. They pride themselves in having built their company with an outstanding reputation of attention to detail, hard work, uncompromising integrity and exceptional customer service. Being a woman owned business, Cathileen is Certified through WBENC (Women’s Business Enterprise National Council).
BYOG continues to help clients of all types by creating and producing custom apparel and branded promotional products. We’re happy to work with anyone from individuals looking to make bachelor/bachelorette party shirts, to Fortune corporate clients and professional sports associations.
We are officially collegiately licensed with several universities (i.e. The University of California Berkeley, University of San Francisco, University of Davis, St. Mary’s University, San Jose State) and are proud to have served companies such as: Gymboree, Intel, INX International, Cox Media and Communications, Comcast, Pepsi, McDonalds, Clorox, Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, Crunch Fitness, PG&E, Chevron and many local high schools.
We continue to develop our capabilities and improve on our ability to be your one stop solution. We can design, print, source, re-label, fold, poly bag and distribute your orders in-house, keeping the turn-around time to a minimum and providing the best quality possible.
